Today was a great day. Unfortunately for us we lost one of the greatest musicians and entertainers in the world. He was an Icon, Legend, Mega Star and King in his own right. Michale Jackson was more then a musician to me. He was larger than life. Once I heard the news I called my grandmother and aunts. Soon after my little sister called me concerned about how I was taking the news. It was like a member of my family passed.
My grandmother reminded me of the time I went to meet Michale. Because my grandfather was a police officer on the force in Philly for 25+ years. My aunt Shelly sung the National Anthem at the Sixers games during the Dr. J era. My aunt NeeNee was a usher at the Spectrum Arena in Philly so I had an all access pass to any event I wanted. My grandfather took me to the stage in 1985. I was 3 years old. I was rocking my Thriller jacket and as I got closer to meeting him (who I idolized) I started to cry and became affraid.
With my 1st paycheck from MTV I bought the Thriller album. With my second I bought the Off The Wall album, with the next I bought the Bad album and so on and so on.
And last but not least for our Serrano Pt.2 family pictures we all recreated our favorite Artists album covers. You can see mines.
I've been blessed to meeting alot of Iconic figures in my life. Because of my family ties as well as my career. MJ was my favorite by far. His memory will live on forever.
